The perfect day
Don Matteo celebrates 40 years of priesthood and for the occasion all his friends meet in Spoleto, including Anceschi.
Love and anger
The murder of a lawyer seems to be linked to a teenager named Federico, who accidentally runs into Don Matteo just as he is fleeing from the victim's house: our priest bonds with that boy and decides to discover the truth about the murder to try to help him. Meanwhile, Valentina takes her first steps in Spoleto and develops a good understanding with PM Nardi. Anna tries to forget Sergio, but Cecchini misunderstands the Capitana's actions and, worried, convinces Marco to stay close to her.
The Queen's sacrifice
The final of a chess tournament takes place in Spoleto: but Olga Valon, the young champion, disappears immediately after the final and someone may have harmed her. It is a hard blow for Natalina, who is very close to the girl: she, in fact, had adopted Olga from a distance and had made her come to Italy years before her. And while Federico is forced to deal with a secret in Greta's past, Marco must come to terms with a renewed awareness: he is still in love with Anna and wants to do everything possible to win her back.
So close, yet so far away
Franco Fanelli, Marco's half-brother, arrives in Spoleto, but there seem to be dark reasons behind his presence. While Federico and Greta get closer and closer, Anna receives a visit from Colonel Lucio Valente, her instructor at the academy, with whom there seems to be a strong harmony. Marshal Cecchini becomes the object of a literary case: a series of detective stories has been released in bookstores that seems inspired by his exploits.
The friend rediscovered
Spoleto wakes up with shocking news: Don Matteo has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Natalina, Pippo and Marshal Cecchini can't believe their eyes: behind the altar, reciting mass, they find Don Massimo, who calls himself the new parish priest and Don Matteo's replacement. But everyone is wary of him, even hostile. Who is Don Massimo? An impostor? And what happened to Don Matteo?
The innocent
Don Massimo struggles to be accepted as the new parish priest of Spoleto, to the point that a petition is even organized in the city to make him go away. The priest is the first to be assailed by doubts also due to an investigation in which he is involved and finds comfort only in the help of the Bishop, who is his friend and mentor. Meanwhile, just when Federico begins to hope that something could be born between him and Greta, the girl seems to be getting closer to another partner.
Other people's faults
Now that her relationship with Marco is no longer a secret, Valentina is very happy to organize outings and adventures with her boyfriend. But their age difference is starting to make itself felt: Nardi tries not to let Valentina see it but in reality he struggles to keep up with her. He talks about it with Anna who, despite showing herself to be her friend, could exploit this situation to her advantage. Cecchini, however, spends his days in the midst of anguish: the Marshal is convinced that he brings bad luck to anyone who meets him.
But is it love that makes the family or the family that makes love?
Caterina, Federico's mother, is the main suspect in a case of attempted murder: a tragic news story from her adolescence inevitably links her to the victim even if she continues to declare herself innocent. Don Massimo decides to dig into the woman's past in search of the truth, while even Federico has stopped believing in his mother. Colonel Anceschi returns to Spoleto to greet his daughter Valentina and to meet her new boyfriend.
The courage to believe
An emergency forces little Ines to live at Anna's house for a few days. This coexistence leads the Captain to ask herself a question that she would never have thought could concern her personally: "Can I be a good mother?". Meanwhile, Ines is involved by Cecchini and Marco in a secret operation, behind Anna's back, which sees the Marshal in the unlikely role of coach of a children's soccer team. Meanwhile, Greta's condition worsened.
Forgetting Matteo
Don Massimo is hiding something. Or at least the Carabinieri are convinced of this as they investigate the priest's strange movements and his recent secret acquaintances which seem to involve a woman from his past. Cecchini stubbornly believes in Don Massimo's good will while, due to a gigantic misunderstanding, he finds himself forced to organize his wedding with Elisa. And the confusion is no less in Anna's life: Sergio's return has messed up the cards again and now more than ever the woman finds herself torn between a future with him and Ines and a future far from everyone, together with Valente.
