Then Chise is invited to enroll at the College, a prestigious learning institution for sorcerers, to examine and look for a way to remove the curses she bears. Despite the reluctance of her groom, Elias Ainsworth, Chise accepts the proposal, as she believes attending the school might help her minimize her self-sacrificing tendencies. From the get-go, Chise grabs the attention of her classmates and professors alike, who have never seen a mage in action before. However, there is a sinister plot brewing behind the College's back, and the young mage will have to determine who is friend or foe in order to put a stop to it.

Chise joins the College as a witch and meets several special students, including Philomela, Veronica and Rian. She has her first day at the gym and sees Elias in action as an instructor.

After the first magic class taught by Elias, the wizard is taken by Renfred and Chise goes after him to try to help him. Chise meets most of her classmates who each have their own particularity, in particular Rian, who wants more than anything to learn witchcraft. But his smell of rust, detected by the creatures, does not seem to offer him this possibility.

Chise suddenly disappears in the fog - and appears in front of Rahab's hut without Stella. Over a cup of coffee, the two talk a little about Eilas, who meanwhile has Angelica visiting.
